It’s no secret that celebrities routinely get paid to party. Sometimes these stars also have to, you know, provide some manner of entertainment between drinks; 2 Chainz, for example, hung out and rapped at Los Angeles’s Supper Club over the Labor Day weekend in exchange for $35,000. (No word on whether his set list was based on his upcoming album, B.O.A.T.S II: Me Time. But something tells me that his tour rider required all ho’s on D.E.C.K.)
Other times, stars just have to show up, maybe walk a red carpet, glad-hand a starstruck corporate host or two, and pretend to enjoy their complimentary bottle service. Heck, Kourtney Kardashian reportedly demanded $150 from every fan who simply wanted to get a photo with her in Las Vegas recently.
Living legends such as Elton John can command upwards of $1 million for private appearances, I hear. But that price tag doesn’t make him the most sought-after celebrity guest of the moment.
“Right now it’s all about the people from The Voice, the judges,” says Rita Tateel, a professional celebrity wrangler who pairs stars with brand endorsements and private events. “They’re the people who are really in demand.” In fact, in the world of, say, corporate events, “You’re talking about A-plus talent.”
